The level I experience has been a point of discussion for many years.  Individually programs at McMaster have thought about 1) the transition from high school to university and 2) what scientific, academic,  and personal skills are necessary for a successful undergraduate career.

I have been on two committees initiated by the Associate Dean of Science, Dr. Mic Farquharson.

1) Level 1 Review Committee: This committee is re-evaluating the level 1 experience in the Faculty of Science

2) Level 1 Subcommittee on Science 1A03 course.  This committee went on to create Science 1A)03, a course that is focussed upon the development of skills and attitudes necessary for successful progression into any Science Program at McMaster University.
